To forge a path toward more productive and equitable health workplaces, USAID’s Leadership, Management and Governance (LMG) project partnered with Iris Group to develop a conceptual framework that examines the effect of gender on supportive supervision. Iris Group developed the framework based on a literature review and expert interviews. The framework, originally focused on the family planning sector but later modified to include the HIV sector, illustrates the importance of pursuing gender-transformative supportive supervision (GTSS) by applying a gender lens to human resource management interventions in the health sector.
