Ma’in Alshamayleh is a recognized leader in transformational leadership and public sector reform, with over 25 years of experience shaping policy, building institutions, and advancing the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda across the MENA region. A tireless advocate for youth inclusion, Ma’in has led pioneering efforts to institutionalize youth engagement in governance and peacebuilding, working at the intersection of policy, empowerment, and strategic development. His leadership was instrumental in shaping the Amman Declaration on Youth, Peace, and Security, a milestone in global youth policy. As the Founder and Chair of the MENA Coalition on YPS and an active member of the Global Coalition on YPS, Ma’in continues to lead regional and international efforts to amplify youth voices in decision-making spaces. His government tenure - including 15 years with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and 10 years at the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs - has equipped him with deep institutional insight, which he leverages to integrate youth priorities into national strategies, legislative frameworks, and peace processes.


Holding a Ph.D. in Political Science and a Master’s in International Relations, Ma’in is also a certified EFQM assessor, having led institutional performance evaluations at both national and Arab regional levels. A passionate advocate for youth and women in peacebuilding, Ma’in has developed and delivered high-impact training in strategic planning, risk management, foresight, and empowerment - transforming leadership cultures from within.


Ma’in played a pivotal role in drafting the Amman Declaration on Youth, Peace, and Security and continues to influence global policy as Founder and Chair of the MENA Coalition for YPS and a member of the Global Coalition on YPS. As a national expert on UNSCR 1325 and 2250, Ma’in advises governments and organizations on integrating gender and youth into peace and security frameworks. In 2021, Ma’in’s visionary work was recognized with First Place at the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Awards - honoring a career dedicated to inclusive, strategic, and sustainable leadership.
