Meital Kupfer is a Research Associate at Iris Group and has extensive experience in research, program design and management, and business development. Meital is skilled at integrating gender, equity and social inclusion (GESI) into international development and humanitarian programming, particularly when it comes to minoritized groups, including the LGBTQIA+ community. They specialize in the development-humanitarian nexus, especially on understanding the effects of protracted crises in displacement. Meital most recently worked as a research consultant, managing technology and civic space projects focusing on digital landscapes in the global South. In their space time, Meital also focuses on inclusive and sustainable mountain tourism in East Africa and Central Asia.
Meital holds a MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. They also hold a BA in International Affairs, specialising in International Development from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.
